They are looking to hire a Superintendent with experience in the life science sector to work on medium to large-scale Construction Projects.

This Superintendent will manage the entirety of construction operations, from groundbreaking to final installations. Primary responsibilities will include directing onsite personnel, maintaining project timelines and budgets, ensuring stringent quality and safety standards are met, and promoting effective communication across all levels of field and trade staff.

Job Title: Superintendent

Project Types: Life Science

Salary: The compensation package depends on experience but is up to 140K and will include a mix of base salary, bonus, full benefits, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret intricate blueprints and specifications relevant to life sciences, such as those used in laboratory and research facility constructions.
• Organize and strategize the deployment of construction crews, emphasizing efficient labor use and detailed plans for operations, especially in settings requiring sterile conditions like cleanrooms.
• Oversee the completion of projects, focusing on life sciences’ unique requirements, such as compiling thorough punch lists, delivering as-built documentation, handing over O&M manuals, and finalizing billing and retainers.
• Enforce rigorous safety protocols, particularly those specific to life sciences, maintain compliance with safety standards, and collaborate closely with safety officers to foster a safety-first culture on site.
• Track and manage resource allocation and project expenditures against the budget forecasts to ensure profitability and adherence to the strict financial controls typical of life science construction.

Skills & Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a superintendent role, particularly in environments associated with life sciences such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare construction.
• Deep understanding of construction methodologies, industry norms, and the regulations specific to life sciences.
• Proficient in managing schedules, procuring materials, overseeing field operations, ensuring safety, maintaining quality, and handling budgets, with a tailored approach to the specific challenges of life science projects.
